Come by our tasting room any weekday afternoon to experience our fine spirits. We are usually around during cocktail hour between 5:00 & 6:00 p.m. most weekday afternoons except Fridays, but it is always best to call ahead to make sure we are in. See for yourself, because tasting is believing.
Born out of our commitment to the finest spirits, Duckworth Distillery is the premiere location for the experimentation, refinement and production of fine spirits in North Texas. After traveling the world and sampling different unique spirits, we decided to make our way back home and start innovating our own unique spirits. And we are now doing that.
Our biggest challenge has been finding the right, high-quality ingredients for the spirits we wanted to create. We are delighted that we have found everything that we needed and more. We have also taken great care in assembling a team of only the best distillers, package designers, communicators and distributors.
Julia & Lee Fuqua own Duckworth Distillery. Lee is a native Dallasite. He operated FUQUA Winery for eight years and then started Duckworth Distillery. Apparently, his unique background in culinary studies at El Centro College in Dallas and his viticulture & enology studies at Grayson College in Sherman have paid off.
What do you get when you take a passionate, world-class winemaker and turn him loose in a distillery? You get world-class, innovative spirits like no one has ever savored before. Duckworth Distillery is now doing just that.
The distillery was named after Lee's grandfather, H. E. Duckworth, a pioneer in the fruit juice business in Texas. Duck, as he was known, loved a good highball, and Lee has made the commitment to produce only the best spirits that his Papa would be proud of.
